Chromatography Toolkit
Hardware Options

A key feature of the Chromatography Toolkit is the ability to support many types of GC's and HPLC's.  More detail is provided about each of these options below.  The options have a range of capabilities and prices to meet a variety of needs.  Options are available for RS-232, USB, PCMCIA, and PCI cards.  Some of these options work very well for portable computers, or can easily be moved between computers.

• Connect to any GC/LC using an analog to digital converter (A/D converter)
  • National Instruments NI-DAQ Boards
• HP 5890 with an RS-232 connection
• Agilent 6890 with the built in RS-232 connection
• Program your own module

Factors to consider

• Accuracy (# of bits of resolution)
• Sampling Rate
  • 10 readings per second is usually sufficient.  50 data points per peak provides for accurate integration.  A peak that is 30 seconds from baseline to baseline would only require about 2 readings per second.
• Cost
• Flexibility for other applications
